Trends in the world of ceramics

The world of ceramics, like all other segments of life, has undergone major and significant changes in recent years. New ideas for refreshing and furnishing the interior are always a current topic.

At the mention of ceramics, until recently, the first thought would be the bathroom or kitchen. However, over the last few years, that has changed significantly. Ceramics are used in all rooms in the interior and exterior, therefore the possibilities are unlimited.

Gentle earth tones, neutral colors and faithfully conveyed details of the natural beauty of marble create a spa feeling that we can now enjoy in our bathrooms. The surface of the tiles very vividly reflects the pattern of the stone, so it easily fits into different interiors. The neutrality of stone materials enables the creation of peaceful and relaxing ambiences in the home, so we can see tiles like this in interiors more and more often.

With advanced technology, imitations of wood have never looked more faithful to the original. The idea of bringing the environment into our homes is becoming more and more popular, because it makes us closer to nature, and at the same time has a relaxing effect on people. For this reason, ceramic tiles in wood design have become popular in all types of rooms. In addition to them, their combinations are increasingly represented: wood and concrete, stone and concrete, wood and metal.

The great popularity of ceramics has been contributed by underfloor heating systems, which are increasingly represented in different types of buildings, and the finesse of the design gives a special note, which has now become a recognizable style.

After choosing the appropriate tiles for your home, it is necessary to pick the appropriate adhesive for laying ceramics. Prior to application, the substrate must be load-bearing, level, free of dirt, grease and other impurities. We recommend PALAS Flexible Tile Adhesive FLEXO, which is suitable for all interior and exterior rooms, as well as underfloor heating. Apply the adhesive with a notched trowel of appropriate tooth depth on the substrate in straight movements in the same direction. For interior wall work, apply adhesive to the tile so that at least 65% of the back of the tile is covered with adhesive. For interior floor and exterior work, we always recommend the method of contact gluing, i.e. applying adhesive to the entire surface of the back of the tile, which achieves a contact surface greater than 95%. Apply the adhesive on the tile in straight movements, which are parallel to the shorter side of the tile. After applying the adhesive, fix the tile and position it in the intended place, so that the direction of the stroke on the tile is the same as the direction of applying the adhesive on the substrate. This avoids the creation of air plugs and achieves full coverage and connection. Lay the tiles so that the space between them is 2-15 mm. Fill the gap between the tiles with grout. Quality choice of adhesive, as well as proper installation, are key factors for the excellent appearance and durability of ceramics in your home.

In addition to the fact that ceramics have been very popular in recent years and provide unlimited visual possibilities, which we believe will continue in the future, you will also enjoy the fact that they do not require any maintenance, except occasional wiping or vacuuming.
